Faith Challenges for Advent Week 3**
**Even In Our Fear, We Are Called Forward**
This week, Mary and Jeremiah remind us that God doesn’t wait for us to feel fearless before calling us. Their stories show us that courage often begins with questions, trembling hands, and the quiet hope that God will walk with us every step of the way.
Here
are two faith challenges to help you live into that truth this week:
**

Say One Small, Courageous “Yes”**
Mary responds to the angel with, *“Let it be with me according to your word”* (Luke 1:38).
Her yes wasn’t loud or perfect — but it was faithful.
This week, choose **one small invitation** God may be placing in front of you and say yes, even if it feels uncomfortable.
* Reaching out to someone who needs encouragement
* Praying with someone instead of saying “I will pray for you”
* Taking a step toward reconciliation
Trust that your small yes can open a larger path.
**

Practice Vulnerability as Trust**
Jeremiah protests, *“I am only a boy,”* and God answers, *“Do not be afraid… I am with you”* (Jeremiah 1:6–8).
Vulnerability isn’t weakness — it’s where courage begins.
This week, name one place where fear or inadequacy has held you back.
Then take a step of vulnerability:
* Share your fear with God in honest prayer
* Confide in a trusted friend
* Admit you don’t have all the answers
* Step toward community instead of away from it
Let God’s promise anchor you:
**As you move through this week…**
Remember: courage is not the absence of fear.
Courage is taking the next faithful step — even when your voice trembles.
