Faith Challenges | Called to Shine

Jesus doesn’t say, “Try to be the light.”
He says, “You are the light of the world.”

That means our faith isn’t meant to be hidden or saved for special occasions. It’s meant to be lived—right where we are, in ordinary moments, for the long run.

As we carry this message into the week, we invite you into two simple faith challenges.

First, choose one place to shine.
Don’t try to shine everywhere. Choose one place—your workplace, your home, a relationship, a conversation you’ve been avoiding. Let your faith show up through kindness, integrity, patience, or generosity. You don’t need a spotlight or the perfect words. Even small acts of faithfulness can bring light to dark places.

Second, stay connected to the source.
Each day this week, take five quiet minutes to reconnect with God. Read Matthew 5:14–16 or Psalm 112:4. Light a candle. Sit in silence. Pray a simple prayer like, “God, keep my light burning.” We don’t shine by trying harder—we shine by staying connected.

Some days, your light may feel strong. Other days, it may flicker. But even a flicker can change the darkness.

You are the light of the world.
Let your light shine this week.
