ROOTED | Week 6 Faith Challenge
Rooted and Sent

For six weeks we’ve been putting down roots. This week, carry them with you. Each day, take one practice from the series out into the world.

Call to Worship
“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” (Psalm 96:3)

Opening Prayer
Living God, you have planted us beside your streams and grafted us into the true Vine. As we go out this week, keep us connected to you, so that what you have grown in us may bear fruit for others. Amen.

Day 1: Abide
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” (John 15:5)
Pray for: A deeper sense of connection to Christ as you begin the week.
Try this: Before you check your phone this morning, take two minutes to sit quietly and simply say, “I belong to you.”
Ask yourself: Where am I trying to bear fruit on my own strength?

Day 2: Scripture Carried Out
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Pray for: Someone who needs a word of hope today.
Try this: Write a verse that has meant something to you on a card or in a text and share it with someone.
Ask yourself: Which verse from this fall do I want to keep carrying with me?

Day 3: Prayer for Others
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.” (1 Timothy 2:1)
Pray for: Your neighbors, your coworkers, and someone you find difficult.
Try this: Pray for each person you pass or meet by name, silently, as you go through your day.
Ask yourself: Who have I been leaving out of my prayers?

Day 4: Community
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” (Hebrews 10:24)
Pray for: Someone in our church family who may be feeling disconnected.
Try this: Reach out to someone you haven’t seen in worship lately. A call, a card, or a visit.
Ask yourself: Who helped root me in faith, and how can I do that for someone else?

Day 5: From the Table to the World
“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” (Romans 12:13)
Pray for: Those who are hungry, lonely, or without a place at any table.
Try this: Invite someone to share a meal or a cup of coffee, or donate to a local food pantry.
Ask yourself: Who is missing from the tables in my life?

Day 6: Rest That Renews
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
Pray for: Someone who is weary and carrying too much.
Try this: Set aside one hour today to stop. No errands, no screens. Let God renew you for what comes next.
Ask yourself: What rhythm of rest will I keep after this series ends?

Day 7: Sent to Bear Fruit
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.”(John 15:16)
Pray for: The courage to live your faith where God has placed you.
Try this: Choose the one practice from Rooted you will keep, and tell someone about your commitment.
Ask yourself: Where is God sending me this week?

Closing Prayer
True Vine, we are yours. Keep us rooted in you as you send us out, and let our lives bear fruit that lasts, for the sake of your world and the glory of your name. Amen.
