Faith Challenge

Choose a room in your home. Any room. The one where you spend the most time, or the one that holds the most memory, or simply the kitchen because that is where Brother Lawrence would send you.

Before you enter it this week — at least once, maybe more — pause at the threshold for just a moment and say something like this:

Lord, you are already here. Help me see it.

That is the whole practice. A threshold prayer. Two seconds. A moment of recognition before you cross into the ordinary space of your ordinary day.

And then, as the week goes on, pay attention to what you notice. The light at a particular time of morning. The familiar sounds. The small details Sor Juana would have catalogued with her restless, observant mind. The moments when something in the room feels, against all expectation, like holy ground.

You might be surprised how often that happens once you start looking.
