The Sacred Ordinary Week 4

This week's faith challenge is one simple act — but it might change how you see everything.

Find one thing you've been holding too tightly this week. Maybe it's money. Maybe it's a plan that didn't go the way you expected. Maybe it's a worry you keep picking back up no matter how many times you set it down.

Hold it out — literally, open your hands — and say something like this:

Lord, this was never really mine to keep. I'm giving it back to you.

Then pay attention to what happens when your hands are open. Brother Lawrence spent forty years discovering that the soul that releases its grip is the soul that receives everything. You have one week to find out if he was right.
